Silver Jewellery - Beginners - 1 Week Course

OUTLINE

The aim of this course is to teach you a range of jewellery making skills and techniques and to gain a greater understanding of the jewellery making process. Throughout the course you will learn various making techniques to create a number of jewellery pieces such as earrings, rings, bangle and pendant. You will be working with copper to practise techniques such as cutting metal, texturing, shaping, soldering and polishing and final pieces will be made in silver. The course takes place in a fully equipped jewellery making studio and provides a great learning environment to develop your creativity and do something fun with like-minded people.

YOU WILL LEARN

• soldering, shaping, cutting and texturing metal
• polishing and finishing
• making jump rings from wire
• making earring hoops and clasps
• how to set cabochon stones

YOU WILL MAKE

• silver earrings
• sliver ring
• ring with stone setting
• pendant with stone setting
• bangle

TOOLS

You will learn to use a piercing saw, soldering torch, mandrels, doming punches, files, metal and rawhide hammers and rolling mill.

SUITABLE FOR

Those with no previous experience and a great taster for those taking their first steps into a creative field.
