Stone Setting - Improver - Evening Course

1 EVENING PER WEEK FOR 5 WEEKS (6:30-9pm)

OUTLINE

This stone setting class is ideal for intermediate students and jewellery practitioners who would like to advance their jewellery making skills by learning some simple but effective stone setting techniques. You will learn two to three types of setting including flush, tube and bezel setting. Flush setting is where the stone sites inside the surface of the metal and is flush with the surface whereas the stone is set inside a tube for tube setting. Both settings are eye-catching and beautiful.

For each of these settings, we will supply non-precious stones however you are welcome to bring your own stones to use during the course. We would recommend using round brilliant cut and round cabochon stones for this course as they are the best to learn and practice with.

The course will be structured around learning and perfecting the techniques and you will have an opportunity to apply a few techniques to make finished pieces.

• One or two finished pieces

MATERIALS

• We supply non-precious round brilliant-cut cz and round cabochon stones. 
• If you prefer to work with specific stones you are welcome to bring them along.
