This 1-day workshop is ideal for anyone new to working with steel and enamel. The course will be an inspiring day, exploring different methods of mark making and experimenting with non traditional approaches to enameling on steel.
Working on flat sheet pre enameled steel, you will use a range of approaches to mark making through layering up enamel, using various tools such as scribers and scorers to explore ways of creating marks, applying text, and then exposing different aspects of the layers by rubbing back the surface.
The main techniques used in this class will be mark making through layers of enamel, using rubber stamps to add enamel, and texturing steel prior to enameling. This class will allow you to experiment with your own ideas through unique two dimensional mark making. The Enamel Workshop is an excellent opportunity for you to learn the basics of working with steel while developing your own creative design ideas.
