3D Printing and Designing – Summer – 2 Days
OUTLINE
Modelling ideas in 3D widen the scope for jewellery designers, allowing for more intricate, elaborate and innovative designs. This 2 day short course is an excellent taster and the perfect introduction to the basics in 3D modelling.
During the 2 days, you will gain an understanding of the interface and the ways in which Rhino uses points, lines, surfaces and solids to create printable 3D objects. You will design simple pieces of jewellery and learn how to convert your design ready for 3D printing.
Course Topics include:
- Designing a one or two jewellery pieces - Using basic commands in different ways to create items such as a ring and pendant.
- Setting up the user interface and layer palette
- Meshing, checking and exporting - Making objects ready for the 3D printer
- Introduction to working with Digital printing companies
